Slowest Cars in the World (as of 2012)
1) 2012 Mitsubishi i MiEV (71.1 mph.)
Zero to 60 mph in13.4 seconds
$33,000. Made in Japan. 66 hp.
Talk about creative ways to reclaim energy, this vehicle has regenerative brakes, which means when decelerating you are charging the battery. This car features rear-wheel drive and a rear motor, Increased cabin space. This little car can sport wood… paneling on the sides, if that’s your thing.
2) 2012 Fiat 500C (75.7 mph.)
$25,950. Made in Italy. 101 hp.
Zero to 60 mph in 11.6 seconds.
A semi-convertible that shakes less than the real convertible style while still feeling the wind in your hair. You can pretend like you are driving a sports car, but the only thing you will be sporting in this car are seven airbags surrounding you if you get a little top heavy tipsy.
3) 2012 Scion iQ (77.1 mph)
$16,050. Made in Japan. 94 hp.
Zero to 60 mph in10.8 seconds
It is currently in vogue to own and drive a high-quality car on the small side. 80 percent of this Scion’s size is interior space. A division of Toyota, the Scion is in line to be a top contender of small (albeit slow) cars.
4) 2011 Lexus CT200h (78.1 mph)
$35,670. Made in USA. 98 hp.
Zero to 60 mph in 10.1 seconds.
“Extremely” good looking for a slow car, the Lexus CT200h is more expensive than cars of equal quality and therefore most appealing to brand shoppers. The Lexus is made out of bamboo charcoal resin. Weight is on the mind when designing a hybrid. The Lexus hollowed out their brake pedal. Maybe they got
5) 2012 Toyota Prius v Wagon (78.8 mph)
$31,300. 98 hp. Made in Japan.
Zero to 60 mph in 10.1 seconds.
The Prius has many options to choose from and newly added to the family affair is the v Wagon. It weighs about 300 lbs. more than the original Prius so that may have an impact on fuel economy. It is roomier, but also boxy making it less aerodynamic and therefore placing it on the slowest list. With the lower case “v” it looks as if to say Prius versus Wagon. Call Toyota’s lawyer for the low-down.
